On April 7 Kyiv will host an international Kyiv half marathon 9th Nova Poshta Kyiv Half Marathon. Due to the annual running event, some streets of the city will be partially closed for traffic along the route of the half marathon on the eve (April 6) and on the actual day of the event (April 7).
Closing streets for traffic is one of the requirements for the mass running events. This would ensure that over 13 thousand participants, including elderly people and people with disability, will feel safe on the route of the event.
This year the organizers of the event, the Run Ukraine company, decided to divide the event into two days: April 6 and 7. On April 6 all races will take place at VDNG to limit the amount of time the streets will be closed for traffic on April 7.
The organizer of Kyiv half marathon, the Run Ukraine company, recommends the drivers to develop alternative routes taking into account the schedule of closing streets for traffic.
April 6
On this day preparatory works will be carried out at Kontraktova Ploshcha, which is why it will be closed for traffic from 5:00 a.m. through 22:00 of the following day (April 7), namely Hryhoriia Skovorody street (from Kontraktova Square), Mezhyhirska street (from H.Skovorody str. to Spaska str.) and Kontraktova ploshcha.
April 7
On the actual day of the race, the following streets will be closed for traffic:
Petra Sahaidachnoho street – 08:00 till 14:40
Borychiv descent – from 08:00 till 14:40
Ihorivska str. – from 08:00 till 14:40
Naberezhno-Khreshchatytska ster. (from Verkhnii Val str. to Poshtova Ploshcha) – from 08:00 till 14:40
Naberezhne Highway (from Borychiv descent to Druzhby Narodiv blvd.) – from 08:00 till 14:40
Havanskyi Bridge going towards Pivnichnyi Bridge – from 08:00 till 14:40
Havanskyi Bridge going towards Verkhnii Val str. – from 11:00 till 14:40
Naberezhno-Rybalska str. – from 08:00 till 14:40
Naberezhno-Rybalska str. going towards Verkhnii Val str. – from 11:00 till 14:40
Pivnichnyi Bridge (a lane for reverse traffic will be set up) – from 09:00 till 11:00
Trukhanivska str. – from 08:00 till 13:00
Dniprovskyi descent – from 08:00 till 10:40
Volodymyrskyi descent – from 08:00 till 14:40
Metro Bridge from 08:00 till 10:40.
