Ukrainian Half Marathon Championship will take place within the 11th WORK.UA KYIV HALF MARATHON 2021

On September 19, Kyiv will host the Ukrainian Half Marathon Championship as part of the 11th WORK.UA KYIV HALF MARATHON 2021 from Run Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Half Marathon Championship is held under the auspices of the Athletics Federation of Ukraine. It will be the primary qualifying race for the 2022 World Championship to be held in China. Therefore, the country’s top athletes, including members of the national team of Ukraine, will take part in the event.

WORK.UA KYIV HALF MARATHON is an annual large-scale running event awarded the Silver Label by the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations). And this guarantees the race will be held at the highest level in accordance with international standards of quality, safety, and service.

Since 2011, Kyiv Half Marathon has been regularly bringing together amateurs and professional athletes from different parts of Ukraine and the world, and in 2015 the event became a full member of the Association of International Marathons (AIMS). In 2017, Run Ukraine hosted the first Ukrainian Half Marathon Championship within Kyiv Half Marathon.

“The Ukrainian Half Marathon Championship within our event is the primary race before the World Championship, so it is one of the most important competitions for professional athletes.
For us, as organizers, this is a great responsibility and an ambitious task.
I am sure that we will hold the race at the highest level with the help of our partners and our team. Our main priority is to give all participants the maximum drive and pleasure from a large-scale running event in the center of Kyiv,” – said Dmytro Chernitsky, Run Ukraine CEO.

Ukrainian Athletics Federation strives to improve the level of national championships every year. We must create the most comfortable and favorable conditions for participants, provide a good picture, and make the competition interesting for fans, sponsors, and partners.
The Ukrainian Half Marathon Championship is extremely important. It will not only determine the strongest but also give tickets to the World Championship. And the fact that it’s going to be held within the Kyiv Half Marathon provides confidence that the event will be held at the highest level.
For many years, Run Ukraine has been known for its high level of the race organization. In 2019, the Association of Balkan Athletics Federations championship was held within Kyiv Half Marathon, and the Ukrainian Athletics Federation received a lot of positive feedback from all participants. We are happy that our cooperation continues, and we sincerely believe that Ukrainian athletes will be able to do their best, and the audience will enjoy this competition,“- said Iolanta Khropach, Secretary-General of the Ukrainian Athletics Federation.

This year about 11,000 participants will take part in the 11th WORK.UA KYIV HALF MARATHON.

The event program includes individual adult races of 21 km, 10 km, 4.2 km, relay, team races, children’s races and Veterans Ten. Each finisher of the event will receive a medal.
