It is easy to do good. Especially if it comes from your heart. Participants of the charitable Fundraising Marathon that is held within Nova Poshta Kyiv Half Marathon 2017 easily overcome their weaknesses and help solve important social problems.
The race for the sake of good will take place on April 9, but the fundraisers are already actively getting ready for it by raising funds for the projects and the practice. On the morning of March 18 the fundraisers came to Poshtova Square along with active runners and professional coaches to participate in the training session Open Run Day, test themselves and awaken the city with their drive. One of the participants of the Fundraising Marathon on behalf of the Fund “Warrior’s Heart”, Oksana Stebelska, the lead singer of the “Ukraiinski Barvy” band, is raising funds to help an ATO veteran purchase a sports prosthetic limb.
“I run to thank a hero”, – says Oksana to all potential donors of the project presented on the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, ubb.org.ua.
On March 18 Oksana came to the training session along with other participants of the Fundraising Marathon. Their team included:
- Liubomyr Yavorskyi, coordinator of military chaplains of Ukrainian Greek Catholic church;
- Roman Torhovytskyi, the head of the CF “Warrior’s Heart”, partner of the “Winners” project;
- Natalka Nahorna, TSN reporter;
- Oleh Marchenko, partner of the law firm Marchenko Danevych;
- Yaroslav Vedmid, the head and founder of the digital agency Postmen.
The training session was also attended by a participant of the “Winners” project Dmytro Blokhin.
Many Ukrainian celebrities, business owners, public figures, lawyers, doctors, journalists also participate in the Fundraising Marathon. Solomiia Vitvitska, Svitlana Tarabarova, Serhii Tanchynets, Arsen Mirzoian, Vlasta Shovkovska, Halyna Tytysh and others are raising funds and getting ready for the race. 147,518 UAH have been collected over the first two weeks, including 91,894 UAH collected on the platform of the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace and 55,624 UAH – at the fundraising platform of “Tabletochki” fund. The funds will be raised through April 12.
On April 9 over 70 fundraisers representing 10 Ukrainian charities and foundations will come to the starting line of Kyiv Half Marathon to demonstrate that sport is not only a way to become more fit, but also an opportunity to help others become healthier and more confident.
